Invisalign Go

Invisalign Go is a clear aligner system designed to straighten mild to moderate alignment issues in a simple, discreet, and comfortable way. It is often used for patients who want to improve the appearance of their smile without traditional braces, while still maintaining a natural look throughout treatment.

At Waipa Dental, we use Invisalign Go as part of a carefully planned approach to cosmetic and functional tooth alignment, helping patients achieve a more balanced, confident smile.

What Invisalign Go can treat

Invisalign Go is suitable for a range of mild to moderate concerns, including:

  • Crowded or overlapping teeth

  • Gaps between teeth

  • Mild relapse after previous orthodontic treatment

  • Minor bite alignment issues

  • Aesthetic alignment concerns affecting the smile

During your assessment, we will determine whether Invisalign Go is the right option for your needs, or whether a referral to an orthodontist is more appropriate for more complex cases.

How Invisalign Go works

Treatment uses a series of custom-made, clear aligners that gradually move your teeth into a better position.

The process typically includes:

  • A detailed consultation and smile assessment

  • Digital scanning of your teeth (no traditional impressions in most cases)

  • A personalised treatment plan showing projected tooth movement

  • A series of removable aligners worn in sequence

Each aligner is worn for around 1–2 weeks before moving on to the next stage in the series.

Benefits of Invisalign Go

Invisalign Go offers several advantages for suitable patients:

  • Clear, discreet aligners that are barely noticeable

  • Removable trays for eating, brushing, and flossing

  • Generally more comfortable than fixed braces

  • No metal brackets or wires

  • Digital planning for predictable tooth movement

  • Easier oral hygiene compared to traditional orthodontics

It is a convenient option for patients looking to improve their smile with minimal disruption to daily life.

What Invisalign Go cannot treat

While Invisalign Go is effective for many mild to moderate cases, it is not suitable for all orthodontic needs.

More complex cases may require:

  • Full orthodontic treatment with a specialist orthodontist

  • Bite correction involving significant jaw discrepancy

  • Severe crowding or rotation

  • Complex skeletal or growth-related issues

If this is the case, we will discuss referral options and ensure you receive the most appropriate level of care.

Your Invisalign journey

Your treatment plan is tailored to your smile goals and clinical needs. The process generally includes:

  • Initial consultation and assessment

  • Digital scan and treatment planning

  • Review of expected outcomes before starting

  • Aligner wear with regular progress checks

  • Refinements if required to fine-tune results

  • Final retainers to maintain your new smile

We will guide you through each stage so you know exactly what to expect.

Wearing and caring for aligners

For best results, aligners should be:

  • Worn 20–22 hours per day

  • Removed only for eating, drinking (except water), and cleaning

  • Cleaned daily with a soft toothbrush and cool water

  • Stored safely in their case when not in use

Good compliance is essential to achieving predictable results within the expected timeframe.

Retention after treatment

Once treatment is complete, retainers are used to maintain your new smile. Teeth naturally tend to shift over time, so retainers are an important part of long-term success.

We will provide guidance on:

  • Retainer wear schedule

  • Long-term maintenance

  • Ongoing monitoring if needed

A balanced approach to smile improvement

Invisalign Go is not just about straightening teeth, it is about creating a smile that feels natural, functional, and well-balanced. We always consider your bite, long-term stability, and overall oral health when planning treatment.

If Invisalign Go is not suitable, we will clearly explain alternative options so you can make an informed decision.

If you’re thinking about straightening your teeth with a more discreet option, our team is here to help. Contact Waipa Dental to book a consultation and find out if Invisalign Go is right for your smile.
